Quabbin Days Launch Ceremony – Friday, October 10, 2025

WHAT:
The inaugural launch of Quabbin Days will take place on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Les and Terry Campbell Visitor Center, 100 Winsor Road, Belchertown. This event will officially kick off a four-day regional celebration (October 10–13) of the Quabbin’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and community spirit.
 
WHO:
Confirmed speakers at this point include:

  • State Senator Jo Comerford (Hampshire, Franklin, Worcester Districts)
  • State Senator Jake Oliveira (Hampden, Hampshire, Worcester Districts)
  • State Representative Aaron Saunders (7th Hampden District)
  • State Representative Todd Smola (1st Hampden District)
  • State Representative Susannah Whipps (2nd Franklin District)
 
Invitations have also been extended to additional legislators and dignitaries representing the Quabbin Region towns.

DETAILS:
The opening ceremony marks the start of Quabbin Days, a first-of-its-kind event celebrating the beauty, history, and importance of the Quabbin Region which is made up of the dozen towns within the Quabbin Watershed. Over the long weekend, towns, organizations, and local businesses will host hikes, tours, exhibits, and cultural events showcasing the region’s heritage and outdoor treasures.
 
Quabbin Days is a project of the Friends of the Quabbin, supported by the Mass Cultural Council’s Creative Experiences program, with additional collaboration from the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR).
