Monson - Monson Savings Bank, a bank that has served local communities for more than 150 years, has proudly announced its third annual President’s Award recipients. This highly distinguished award has been presented to Assistant Vice President Operations Officer Paul Shepardson and Accounting Manager Michael Sexton.
The Monson Savings Bank President’s award was developed by the Bank’s Employee Recognition Committee. The Committee consists of employees who represent all areas of the Bank. The goal of the Committee is to further the recognition of the Monson Savings Bank team for their outstanding performance. The President’s Award is just one of the many ways employees are recognized and rewarded for their commitment to the values, mission, and overall success of the Bank.
The President’s Award is an opportunity to acknowledge those who consistently represent Monson Savings Bank’s mission and values through their commitment to customer service, the community, teamwork, and excellence. A candidate for the President’s Award displays a positive approach and willingness to help, shows respect for themselves and others, and demonstrates honesty and integrity, all while delivering service with warmth, friendliness, and individual pride to customers and colleagues.
“I am thrilled to announce that Paul and Michael have been selected as recipients of the prestigious 2025 President’s Award. While it was difficult to choose just two recipients with a team of all stars, Paul and Michael demonstrate the qualities set forth as the President’s Award standards,” said Dan Moriarty, Monson Savings Bank President & CEO. “We all are proud of both of them and wish to congratulate them on their accomplishments as community leaders and role models.”
Here are some of the comments made by Paul Shepardson’s colleagues who nominated him for the President’s Award:
Paul’s knowledge and understanding of all things operations provides the branch staff with so much confidence as we build our skills. There are so many moving parts involved in his department and yet no matter how busy it is we can rely on Paul and his department for guidance. Trusting that guidance is paramount to how we communicate any information back to the customer. I personally know I have asked a question multiple times before really grasping the whole concept, and every time without fail I was met with a calm voice/presence and concise easy to digest information. It is impressive to see someone work at such a high level while simultaneously providing the same exceptional service to his internal customers as well. We are thankful for Paul’s patience!”

“Paul demonstrates honesty and integrity, a commitment to excellence, is very knowledgeable, and inspires trust and respect.”

“He is always thinking of various ‘outside the box’ solutions to help customers. He is very intelligent and great at critical thinking. Therefore, he is a valuable resource.”

“Paul demonstrates outstanding commitment to customer service and community service.”

“I always have a pleasant experience when dealing with a situation with Mike, and his positive personality makes any situation easier to handle!”

“I always know if I run into an issue that may include Accounting, Mike is going to have an idea on how to help.”

“He is very knowledgeable in his field and willing to find out any answer I have ever asked of him.”
“The Monson Savings President’s Award recognizes the exceptional work of our team members, it demonstrates the Monson Savings Bank team culture, and it showcases two prime examples of what our standards of excellence are amongst our team,” said Michael Rouette, Monson Savings Bank Executive Vice President & COO. “I would like to extend a sincere congratulations to Paul and Michael for being the Monson Savings Bank President’s Award recipients.
