JGS Lifecare’s 45th Annual Frankel Kinsler Classic Day of Tournaments Supporting the Care of our Community’s Edlers

LONGMEADOW, MA –JGS Lifecare, a leading health care system serving seniors and their families, held its 45th Annual Frankel-Kinsler Classic Day of Tournaments at Twin Hills Country Club in Longmeadow, on Monday, August 31st.  Over 200 people participated in golf, pickleball, card-playing tournaments, and a celebratory awards dinner.  The event grossed over $139,000 to support the care of our community’s elders.

Strong Community Support

JSG Lifecare expressed its gratitude for the overwhelming support from businesses and individuals throughout Western Massachusetts.  Over the past 45 years, the Frankel Kinsler Classic has raised more than $2 Million for elder care.  These donations have funded various improvements, including new resident vans, resident furnishings, hi-low beds, computer technologies to help keep elders stimulated, engaged and connected to their families; new flooring, and more.  This year, tournament proceeds will help fund a new nurse call system at The Leavitt Family Jewish Home, strengthening communication between residents and caregivers and further enhancing the safe, attentive care our residents receive every day.

“As an organization whose majority of funding comes through Medicaid, the Frankel-Kinsler Classic is an enormously successful and fun way for us to engage the community to provide fiscal resources to help us maintain our quality of care and enrich our programming and services,” commented Susan Kimball Halpern, vice president of development at JGS Lifecare. “We are so grateful for the tremendous show of support from area businesses and individuals who join us in our commitment to care for our elders.”
