Monson Savings Bank supports the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts through its Together for Food Security campaign and volunteer efforts.


Dan Moriarty, President and CEO of Monson Savings Bank, presented a $10,000 donation to Andrew Morehouse, Executive Director, and Cheyenne Burnham, Public Engagement Manager of the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts.
 
Monson, MA - Monson Savings Bank has donated $10,000 to the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts as part of the Bank's Together for Food Security campaign, a month-long October initiative supporting food access efforts across the region.
The Food Bank builds lasting food security by sourcing, storing, and distributing nutritious food and partnering with communities to end hunger in Western Massachusetts. As the region’s central food warehouse and a hub for resources, education, and advocacy, it supports a broad network of food pantries, meal programs, shelters, and direct distribution programs across Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire counties.
Smaller local organizations rely on the Food Bank for essential access to food, training, navigation resources, and regional coordination. Monson Savings Bank’s contribution will help maintain these resources and strengthen the connection between regionwide capacity and neighborhood-level service.

During October, Monson Savings Bank employees will volunteer at the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, helping sort donated food before distribution. This hands-on service complements the Bank’s financial contribution and gives employees an opportunity to directly support the regional food assistance network.
The donation is one of several contributions made through Together for Food Security. Across the campaign, Monson Savings Bank is supporting organizations that address food insecurity at different points in the local food system, from neighborhood pantries and mobile markets to food rescue, urban agriculture, and regional distribution.
