Baystate Academy to Host 5th Annual Community Back to School Fest

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Baystate Academy Charter Public School will welcome students, families and community members to its 5th Annual Community Back to School Fest on Saturday, August 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Baystate Academy Charter Public School, located at 2001 Roosevelt Ave. in Springfield, MA. 

The annual celebration brings the community together ahead of the new school year for an afternoon of free activities, food, entertainment and resources for local families.

Guests can enjoy a free backpack giveaway while supplies last, as well as complimentary hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks while supplies last. The event will also feature a live DJ, face painting, a bounce house, raffles and community resource partners offering information and connections to local services.

“For five years, our Community Back to School Fest has given us an opportunity to bring families together and help students start the school year feeling supported and excited for what’s ahead,” said Tim Sneed, Executive Director. “We’re proud to open our doors to the community and create a fun, welcoming day where families can connect with one another and with valuable local resources.”

A variety of local vendors will also participate in the festival, offering food, treats, crafts and other merchandise for purchase. Community resource tables and all school-sponsored activities listed above are free to attend. Purchases from independent vendors are optional and are the responsibility of individual attendees. Baystate Academy does not provide payment for purchases made from participating vendors.
