52 Sumner Takes Center Stage with Must See Performances and a Showstopping Broadway Event

Springfield, Mass. – The spotlight is shining bright at 52 Sumner as the Springfield venue shares an exciting lineup of upcoming performances that blend world class talent, returning favorites, and community driven programming. With something for every audience, the coming weeks promise unforgettable experiences, highlighted by a major Broadway event that is not to be missed.
 
Two remarkable shows lead the line-up this weekend:
 

  • The Best of Broadway with Meredith Patterson and Dustin Brayley – Saturday, April 25
 
This is a truly special evening that brings the magic of Broadway directly to Springfield. Meredith Patterson’s career spans theater, television, live entertainment, and storytelling. She’s a Broadway veteran known for standout roles in productions such as 42nd Street and White Christmas. She is joined by acclaimed performer Dustin Brayley, lead singer/guitar player of the multi-platinum selling band Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Recently he was also on Broadway in Rocktopia where he shared the stage with such Rock legends as Dee Snider from Twisted Sister and Robin Zander of Cheap Trick!
 
Together, they deliver a powerful and dynamic collection of Broadway’s most beloved songs, combining exceptional vocals, stage presence, and storytelling that captures the energy and emotion of the Great White Way. This is a rare opportunity to experience top tier Broadway talent in an intimate setting, making it one of the most anticipated events of the season.
 
  • Paul the Beatle – Sunday, April 26
 
Returning by popular demand, this show is a fan favorite that celebrates the legendary music of Paul McCartney. Audiences can expect an evening filled with iconic songs spanning The Beatles, Wings, and McCartney’s solo career. With its nostalgic charm and sing along moments, this performance continues to be a crowd pleaser for all ages.

  • Springfield Chamber Players perform Mozart and More – May 17
  • This marks SCP’s final performance of the season at 52 Sumner. This elegant program highlights the timeless brilliance of Mozart alongside a thoughtfully curated selection of chamber works. The performance offers audiences a refined and intimate musical experience, showcasing the talent of accomplished regional musicians.
 
  • Aladdin – July 10 through July 12
  • This classic, presented as a bilingual performance, in partnership with Springfield Community Theater of Massachusetts, brings the beloved story of Agrabah to life with music, adventure, and iconic songs such as “A Whole New World” and “Friend Like Me”. Families and audiences of all ages can expect a colorful and engaging theatrical experience.
 
  • 3rd Annual Pioneer Valley Ska Festival – July 24 & July 25
  • Returning and much anticipated, The Pioneer Valley Ska Festival brings two full days of high energy performances to 52 Sumner. This popular event celebrates ska music and its vibrant community with a lineup of bands from across the region and beyond. One ticket grants access to both days of music, making it a cannot miss weekend for fans of ska, punk, and upbeat live performances. 
 
  • Forever Plaid – September 25 through September 27
  • This nostalgic and heartwarming musical, produced locally by Springfield Community Theater of Massachusetts, follows a 1950s harmony quartet given one final chance to perform. Filled with classic hits and charming humor, the show delivers a feel good experience that celebrates music, friendship, and second chances.
