ERC5 member Alyssa Lunghi helps Shine a Light on Alianza DV Services as Inaugural 5K Raises More Than $47,000

Holyoke, mass – The ERC5 Town Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize Alyssa Lunghi, board president of Alianza DV Services and a proud ERC5 member, for her passionate advocacy and commitment to supporting survivors of domestic violence throughout Western Massachusetts.

On September 26, Alianza DV Services held its inaugural Cider Donut Dash 5K at Ashley Reservoir in Holyoke.  The event, Alianza’s first fundraiser in 10 years, brought together more than 450 registered runners, walkers and volunteers and raised more than $47,000 to support the organization’s work.

For Alyssa Lunghi, supporting Alianza is deeply personal.  She first became involved with the organization in 2014 through a company day of service helping improve the landscaping around Alianza’s shelter.  Her involvement continued over the years, and in 2024 she joined the organization’s Board of Directors.  She now serves as board President.

“My mission is to shine a light on Alianza, a resource I didn’t know existed when I needed help, and to ensure Alianza has the funding to support every survivor who reaches out,” Alyssa Lunghi shared.

Alianza DV Services, founded in 1980, provides free and confidential assistance to people whose lives are affected by domestic violence.  Its services include support with safe housing, food, clothing, medical care, legal assistance, therapy and childcare.  According to Alyssa Lunghi, Alianza has sheltered more than 10,000 women and children and assisted another 22,000 people through community-based support programs.

The success of the Cider Donut Dash demonstrated tremendous support for Alianza throughout the community. With more than $47,000 raised at its first fundraiser in a decade, the event helped bring both financial support and greater awareness to the organization’s mission.
