Monson Savings Bank Supports Rachel's Table Food Rescue and Hunger Relief Work

Springfield, MA - Monson Savings Bank has contributed $2,000 to Rachel's Table of Western Massachusetts as part of the Bank's Together for Food Security campaign.
Rachel's Table works to alleviate hunger and reduce food waste across Western Massachusetts. Through food rescue, farm gleaning, food purchasing, and community garden programs, the organization connects nutritious food that might otherwise go unused with pantries, meal programs, shelters, youth programs, and other community partners.
By expanding the supply and variety of nutritious food available to community organizations, this model strengthens the regional food security system. It also reduces waste and creates practical opportunities for volunteers to support hunger-relief efforts.
The donation is one of several contributions made through Together for Food Security, which supports organizations addressing food insecurity at different points in the local food system. These organizations include neighborhood pantries, mobile markets, food rescue and urban agriculture programs, and regional food distribution partners.
