Monson Savings Bank Donates $3,000 to Friends of Hampden Senior Citizens

Monson, MADan Moriarty, Monson Savings Bank President and CEO, and Hampden Branch Manager, Retail & Security Officer and Friends of Hampden Senior Citizens Board Member Adriano dos Santos recently presented a $3,000 donation to Ted Zebert, Treasurer of Friends of Hampden Senior Citizens, and Claudia Kapinos, President of Friends of Hampden Senior Citizens, on behalf of Monson Savings Bank.

Friends of Hampden Senior Citizens earned this donation from the local bank after placing in the top ten for the Monson Savings Bank 2025 Community Giving Initiative. Community members voted for their favorite charitable organizations and chose Friends of Hampden Senior Citizens to be a recipient of a donation in 2025.
“We are incredibly thankful to Monson Savings Bank for their generous contribution,” said Ted Zebert, Friends of Hampden Senior Citizens Treasurer. “We also deeply appreciate the community members who voted for us to receive this support.”

The mission of Friends of Hampden Senior Citizens, Inc., a non-profit organization with IRS 501c3 designation, is to promote, support and encourage the use of the Hampden Senior Center and its programs.

“Friends of Hampden Senior Citizens use donations to enhance our town’s Senior Center without impacting the town’s tax base,” said Claudia Kapinos, Friends of Hampden Senior Citizens President. “We invite all seniors to enjoy the programs, events, and services offered, and we welcome everyone to support the Senior Center, whether through donations or volunteering. There are many opportunities throughout the year, and our Senior Center staff coordinate all volunteer efforts.”

Dan Moriarty, Monson Savings Bank President and CEO, emphasized the importance of the work that Friends of Hampden Senior Citizens does for the local area.

“Monson Savings Bank is proud to support the Friends of Hampden Seniors,” said Moriarty. “They do amazing work helping local seniors stay active, connected, and cared for. The money they raise goes straight into programs and services that really make a difference. We’re happy to be part of that effort and to give back to a group that gives so much to our community.”

About Monson Savings Bank
Incorporated as a mutually chartered community bank in 1872, Monson Savings Bank has one of the longest tenures of service and stability in its market. Civic leaders chartered the bank with the intent to give working men and women the opportunity to save, which – incredibly, they could not do prior to the bank’s inception.  Today, Monson Savings Bank retains its legacy of empowerment through savings, but has expanded to serve its customers with a variety of innovative financial services, including digital banking, online mortgage applications and business banking, and commercial lending. The bank has expanded on its promise of “where people save, businesses prosper, and communities benefit” by opening offices in Hampden, Wilbraham, Ware, and most recently East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. The bank also opened a retail and business loan operations center in Wilbraham in 2020. Member FDIC, Member DIF, Equal Housing Lender
