Foundation for TJO Animals Welcomes Janna Brown as New Executive Director

SPRINGFIELD, MA – The Foundation for TJO Animals has named Janna Brown as its new executive director. Brown served as the interim executive director for the past year. Prior to assuming the interim role, Brown served for five years as a member of the Foundation for TJO Animals Board of Directors. In addition, she volunteered weekly at the Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center on Cottage Street.

Before joining the Foundation for TJO Animals, Brown spent twenty years as a meteorologist with the past nine years at Western Mass News, becoming a well-known and respected public figure. During her tenure the foundation was selected as the station charity of choice.

“I started at the TJO adoption center as a dog volunteer, walking pups, cleaning kennels, and other tasks as needed. My admiration and support for what they do there grew into a passion and career centered around helping care for animals. I am honored to take on this role and work alongside such a dedicated team and board of directors. Together, I believe we can achieve great things and make a positive impact at TJO and in our community,” said Brown.

Foundation for TJO Animals Board President Heather Heeb shared, “We are thrilled to welcome Janna as our new executive director. We are confident that her leadership will bring new energy and effectiveness to the Foundation for TJO Animals. We look forward to working alongside Janna and her team to continue our mission in supporting the needs at the Thomas J. O'Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center.”
