Springfield, MA - Monson Savings Bank has donated $1,000 to Educare Springfield's Gratis Table as part of the Bank's Together for Food Security campaign. Employees at the Bank's Loan and Operations Center in Wilbraham will also collect food and family essentials throughout October for the table.
Educare Springfield provides high-quality early learning and family support for young children from underserved communities. Its approach extends beyond the classroom to help children and families thrive. The Gratis Table gives families access to donated food, clothing, and other useful items, helping address immediate household needs that can affect a child's health, stability, and readiness to learn.
The employee collection will complement the financial contribution by providing food and family essentials that Educare can make available directly to families.

“Food security and early childhood success are closely connected,” said Dan Moriarty, President and CEO of Monson Savings Bank. “Educare Springfield supports the whole family, and the Gratis Table provides a respectful, immediate way for families to access essential items while supporting their children’s development.”

The donation is one of several contributions made through Together for Food Security. Through the campaign, Monson Savings Bank is supporting local organizations that address food insecurity through neighborhood pantries, mobile markets, food rescue, urban agriculture, and regional distribution.

“When families have access to food and everyday essentials, children are better positioned to learn and grow,” said Nikki Burnett, Executive Director of Educare Springfield and Monson Savings Bank Board Member. “We appreciate Monson Savings Bank's support of the Gratis Table and the employees who are contributing items for Educare families.”
