Rock Tributes, Musical Theater, and Soulful Legends Light Up the Stage52 Sumner Continues to Heat This Summer with New Shows Added
Springfield, Mass. – The summer is in full swing, and 52 Sumner, Springfield’s premier live performance venue from Springfield Performing Arts Ventures, Inc. (“SPAV”), continues to deliver an exciting lineup of performances. From ska festivals to jazz classics and Broadway favorites, the stage at 52 Sumner is alive with rhythm, talent, and community.
In addition to the dynamic performances already announced for this summer, two brand new shows have been added to the August lineup, bringing even more variety to this vibrant season.
Summer Line-Up
Shooting Star Launch Party - A Tribute to Bad Company – Friday, July 18
Kick off the summer with a high-energy tribute to one of classic rock’s most legendary bands. Shooting Star brings all the hits like “Feel Like Makin’ Love” and “Shooting Star” to life in this crowd-pleasing celebration.
Second Annual Pioneer Valley Ska Festival – Friday and Saturday, July 25 & 26
Back for round two, this two-day festival returns with lively ska rhythms, brass sections, and feel-good vibes. Regional favorites take the stage in this celebration of community, culture, and movement.
“Annie – The Musical” – Saturday and Sunday, August 2 & 3
Presented by Springfield Community Theater, this heartwarming production brings the story of Annie to life with beloved songs and a talented local cast. A perfect outing for families and fans of musical theater.
NEWLY ADDED: It’s ‘the Wildest’ – Friday, August 8
Celebrate the high-energy, swingin’ sounds of Louis Prima and Keely Smith in this spirited musical tribute. “It’s the Wildest” recreates the charisma, chemistry, and musical genius of the famed duo with timeless songs and an unforgettable performance.
NEWLY ADDED: Blood Brothers: Mike Zito & Albert Castiglia – Friday, August 15
Get ready for a blues-rock powerhouse performance featuring Mike Zito and Albert Castiglia. Add special guests Peter Newland of FAT and Scott Murawski of Max Creek, and this show promises a one-of-a-kind night of raw, electrifying music.
While private rentals continue to fill much of the summer calendar, these public events offer a taste of the diverse talent 52 Sumner brings to the region.
