Springfield, Mass. – The summer season is almost upon us and 52 Sumner, Springfield’s premier live performance venue from Springfield Performing Arts Ventures, Inc. (“SPAV”), is turning up the volume. While the summer calendar includes several private rentals, there are still a few cannot miss public shows lighting up the stage. 
 
This July and August, audiences can look forward to a genre-spanning lineup that celebrates rock legends, community spirit, and Broadway classics. Whether you're a lifelong music lover or a fan of family-friendly theater, 52 Sumner offers something for everyone.

Shooting Star Launch Party - A Tribute to Bad Company – Friday, July 18
Get ready for a high-energy night celebrating the music of Bad Company. Shooting Star delivers an authentic tribute to one of classic rock’s most iconic bands. Sing along to hits like “Feel Like Makin’ Love,” “Shooting Star,” and “Bad Company” in this electrifying kickoff to summer.
Second Annual Pioneer Valley Ska Festival – Friday, July 25 and Saturday, July 26
Back by popular demand, the Pioneer Valley Ska Festival returns for a two-day celebration of horns, rhythm, and island-inspired grooves. Featuring a full lineup of regional ska bands, this event brings the energy, movement, and inclusive community vibes that ska fans know and love.
“Annie – The Musical” – Friday, August 1 through Sunday, August 3
The sun will come out this August when Annie takes the stage at 52 Sumner. This beloved musical classic, presented by the talented performers of Springfield Community Theater, offers a heartwarming story, memorable songs, and fun for the whole family. Don't miss your chance to support local theater in one of the city’s most beautiful performance spaces.

Dan McKellick, co-founder of SPAV and performing space, 52 Sumner, shared, “When my partner, Angela Park, and I began this journey we knew we wanted to bring a mix of local, regional and national talent to Greater Springfield. That’s why, we’re stoked to share about an exciting national entertainer coming this fall.”
 
An Evening of Mystery with Jon Stetson – Friday, November 7
Prepare to be amazed this fall when Jon Stetson, America’s Master Mentalist, takes the stage. Known for his mix of mind-reading, comedy, and audience connection, Jon has entertained everyone from heads of state to celebrities. Presale pricing is now available for a limited time.

This new venue found its home in a portion of Faith United Church, a 125-year-old landmark that had recently come on the market amid declining church membership in Springfield, MA.
