52 Sumner Announces Festive November and December Lineup with Community Favorites and Holiday Cheer

Springfield, Mass. 52 Sumner, the lively arts and entertainment venue operated by Springfield Performing Arts Ventures Inc., is gearing up for a joyful, music filled, community centered holiday season. Nestled in a beautifully restored 125 year old former church in Springfield’s historic Forest Park neighborhood, 52 Sumner continues to shine as a gathering place where creativity, culture, and connection come together.
 
This November and December, guests can look forward to an exciting series of performances and celebrations that embrace the spirit of the season. From a festive friends gathering to world class music to beloved holiday classics, the stage is set for memorable moments. 
 
Upcoming events include:
 

  • Young Professional Society (YPS) Friendsgiving on Thursday, November 20
  • YPS returns to 52 Sumner for its annual Friendsgiving celebration. This heartwarming night brings together local professionals for food, fun, and plenty of good energy in a welcoming community setting.
 
  • Springfield Chamber Players Percussion Quartet on Sunday, November 23 (afternoon show)
  • The musicians of MOSSO bring their extraordinary Percussion Quartet to the 52 Sumner stage. Audiences will enjoy an evening of rhythmic artistry, brilliant musicianship, and the bold soundscapes that only a percussion ensemble can deliver.
 
  • Jingle and Mingle Holiday Party on Tuesday, December 9
  • This spirited celebration brings together members of the Westfield Chamber, West of the River Chamber, and Chicopee Chamber for one big festive gathering. Attendees can expect a lively atmosphere filled with great conversation, seasonal treats, and plenty of holiday cheer.
 
  • The Christmas Carol on Saturday, December 13 (afternoon show)
  • A timeless holiday favorite arrives at 52 Sumner as performers bring to life the classic tale by Charles Dickens. This production offers a heartfelt and nostalgic experience that captures the joy, redemption, and wonder of the season.
 
  • Candlelight Christmas Carols on Strings on Friday, December 19 (two showtimes)
  • Two enchanting evening performances will feature stunning string arrangements of beloved Christmas carols surrounded by the warm glow of candlelight. This elegant and atmospheric concert promises a magical holiday experience for guests of all ages.
 
Looking ahead to January, 52 Sumner is thrilled to tease an anticipated performance already generating significant excitement:
 
  • For Love For Liberty A New Musical About General Knox on Sunday, January 18, 2026 (two showtimes)
  • This original musical, produced by Springfield Community Theater of MA, brings history to life with a compelling story, dynamic characters, and an unforgettable score. Audiences can expect an inspiring and powerful theatrical experience to kick off the new year.
