Westfield, MA—Theresa Szlosek has been promoted to Assistant Vice President and Corporate Secretary at Westfield Bank and its holding company, Western New England Bancorp, Inc.
Ms. Szlosek’s banking career spans 32 years, beginning at BayBank Valley (now Bank of America) as an Executive Assistant and Project Analyst. In 1995, she joined the former Chicopee Savings Bank as an Executive Assistant to the President and was later promoted to Administrative Officer and Corporate Secretary for Chicopee Bancorp, Inc. When Chicopee Savings Bank was merged with and into Westfield Bank in 2016, Szlosek was appointed Corporate Secretary and Administrative Officer for Westfield Bank as well as Corporate Secretary for Western New England Bancorp, Inc. In her dual roles, she assists executive management, the board of directors, and their committees.
Ms. Szlosek is actively involved in a variety of charitable organizations, especially as Secretary and Director of the Chicopee Savings Charitable Foundation, a private foundation that grants funding to qualified 501c3 organizations, serving 20 local cities and towns. She serves on the Board of Directors of Sunshine Village of Chicopee, MA and organizes a team of volunteers for the Rays of Hope Annual Walk and Run of Springfield, MA. She has spent many years advocating for people with special needs through her participation on various boards and committees with the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Disabilities. Her long history of community service includes work with the United Way, the March of Dimes, Special Olympics, and the Chicopee Boys and Girls Club. In 2014, she was the recipient of the Paul Harris Award from the Chicopee Rotary Club. She also received the 2010 Edward T. Ryan Award from the Chicopee Boys and Girls Club and the 2009 Volunteer of the Year Award from Brightside for Families and Children of West Springfield.
Professionally, Ms. Szlosek is a member of The Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals. She is a past member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals and the Chicopee Business and Professional Women’s Organization.
